Job description

This role is part of the global controls team within AWS Infrastructure Services, focusing on the management and optimization of building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) in data centers. The team comprises diverse experts in software, hardware, and network engineering, working collaboratively to ensure safety, security, and efficiency. The position emphasizes troubleshooting, project management, and the development of new processes in the controls space. Candidates will engage with various stakeholders to enhance data center operations and infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of project management experience in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure
  • Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation
  • Familiarity with building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, or OSHA

Responsibilities

  • Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with BMS and EPMS systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to operations during the data center lifecycle.
  • Review quarterly maintenance results for BMS and EPMS and resolve action items.
  • Develop project scope, schedule, budget, and level of effort for BMS and EPMS projects.
  • Manage the execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects in AWS data centers.
  • Assist in procurement activities including vendor proposal reviews and purchase orders.
  • Participate in the global on-call schedule for BMS and EPMS technical support.
  • Attend project meetings and report status to management.
  • Support commissioning activities for Controls projects in data centers.
  • Review and implement controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to the design team.
  • Develop and modify controls logic programming and graphical user interfaces.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and navigate challenging situations.
  • Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
  • Visit assigned data centers to troubleshoot and supervise vendor work.
