Job description
Join Rivian's Charging & Energy team as a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Engineer, where you will design and develop test environments for next-generation charging products. This hands-on role involves bridging hardware and software by creating custom interface boards and writing automation scripts in Python. Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, with a strong preference for Electrical Engineering background.
- 1+ years of experience in hardware design, HIL testing, embedded systems, or electrical systems engineering.
- Hands-on experience reading electrical schematics and designing custom PCBs and wire harnesses.
- Proficiency in Python, with the ability to write scripts and tools for hardware testing automation.
- Strong debugging skills across both electrical and software domains.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate custom HIL printed circuit boards (PCBs) and wire harnesses for charging and energy controllers.
- Read, interpret, and troubleshoot electrical schematics and hardware systems to ensure accurate test setups.
- Develop and maintain Python-based software applications, scripts, and libraries for HIL regression testing and hardware validation.
- Collaborate with hardware and functional safety engineers to design test systems that validate critical safety features.
- Take ownership of physical HIL benches, optimizing workflows and troubleshooting electrical faults.
