Job description
The Senior Datacenter Engineer role at Google focuses on defining system-level architecture and product strategy for next-generation data centers. The position involves conducting engineering analysis and researching innovative designs for data center equipment and facilities. The engineer will also develop standard operating and maintenance procedures for critical systems while implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field and 5 years of progressive experience in Datacenter Engineering-related occupations.
- Alternatively, a Master’s degree in the relevant fields and 3 years of experience in Datacenter Engineering-related occupations is acceptable.
- 3 years of experience in controls engineering implementation, Building Management System (BMS) or Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) operation, and process improvement for critical infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Define system-level architecture and product strategy for next-generation data centers.
- Conduct engineering analysis and research innovative designs for data center equipment and facilities.
- Develop and document standard operating and maintenance procedures for critical systems.
- Implement process improvements across critical infrastructure projects to boost operational efficiency.
