Job description
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Google will focus on driving the design, optimization, and qualification of complex manufacturing processes. This role involves leading initiatives to improve manufacturability, cost, quality, and availability of components. The engineer will also champion the Root Cause Corrective Action process and develop comprehensive manufacturing strategies. This position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure high-quality product releases and may involve international travel.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 4 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in Manufacturing Process Engineering or related occupations.
- Experience in Production Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis or Corrective and Preventive Action Management.
- Proficiency in Statistical Process Control or Data Analytics for Manufacturing.
- Experience in Hardware Product Development Lifecycle Management or New Product Introduction Management.
- Technical Project Management or Engineering Project Leadership experience.
Responsibilities
- Drive the design, optimization, and qualification of complex manufacturing processes.
- Lead Design for Excellence initiatives for complex components to improve manufacturability.
- Champion the Root Cause Corrective Action process by directing investigations into technical failures.
- Implement robust statistical process controls by defining critical parameters and analyzing data.
- Develop comprehensive manufacturing strategies to enhance production efficiency and supply continuity.
- Steer manufacturing test development for new and existing product designs.
