Job description

The Senior Test Engineer will join the Optical Inter-Satellite Link Manufacturing Team at Amazon Leo, focusing on the end-to-end electrical testing process for a Line-Replaceable-Unit. This role involves solving complex technical challenges related to testing high-performing optical, electrical, and mechatronic modules. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance production processes and ensure quality and efficiency in manufacturing. The position requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership to drive improvements in test methods and production scaling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or equivalent
  • 10+ years of practical Electrical Device experience in design or manufacturing
  • Experience with test plan development and building necessary test bench infrastructure
  • Experience with industry-standard tools and scripting languages, particularly Python
  • Hands-on experience using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and function generators

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, develop, introduce, and scale production test methods for electrical and environmental tests for the Optical Head Assembly
  • Lead Root Cause & Corrective Action investigations for devices that fail testing
  • Partner with the Electrical Design team to improve robustness of electrical product design for future iterations
  • Collaborate with the Supplier Quality Team to enhance the quality of electrical materials delivered to production
  • Work with Operations and Equipment Engineering teams to industrialize and scale testing processes for the Optical Head Assembly
