The role involves leading the design and development of server products within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Hardware Engineering team. Engineers will collaborate with a diverse group of specialists to deliver high-quality solutions that meet customer needs while maintaining safety and security standards. Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of designing or architecting new and existing systems experience
- 5+ years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, and operating systems
- Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals including networking, storage, and operating systems
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, or Ruby
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent
- Experience with general troubleshooting/debugging of hardware
- Experience in developing functional specifications and test procedures
- Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of server products utilizing various design and manufacturing partners.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand customer technical needs and business goals.
- Oversee the fleet of servers post-launch, monitoring quality and customer requirements.
- Drive high quality and reliability into future designs for AWS server solutions.
- Decompose complex server system problems into manageable tasks for the team.
- Work with a variety of job roles through server conception, design, test, launch, and operations.
