Job description
As an Amazon Logistics Operations Engineer, you will manage cross-functional projects focused on developing sortation and distribution solutions. You will work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery while maintaining high standards. The role requires a strong emphasis on process improvement and technical expertise to enhance operational efficiency. You will be part of a diverse team dedicated to continuous improvement and delivering exceptional results for customers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- 3+ years of experience as a project engineer, process engineer, project manager, manufacturing engineer, or related occupation is required.
- Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments is required.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, and field execution is required.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL at the intermediate level is required.
- Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing is required.
- Experience communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences is required.
Responsibilities
- Manage the lifecycle of challenging projects and deliver on project objectives and targets.
- Participate in engineering reviews and impact proposed solutions on systems architecture.
- Partner with teams and vendors to set project priorities and drive schedules.
- Lead execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs.
- Communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
- Articulate system and equipment designs to internal customers and partner teams.
- Manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validations.
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives to enhance team efficiencies.
