Job description

In this role at Apple, you will be part of the Platform Architecture group, focusing on the integration of hardware and software systems. The team analyzes system-on-a-chip (SoC) power and performance characteristics to guide future product development. You will collaborate with engineers to evaluate technologies and identify performance limitations. Your work will drive recommendations for improvements in both hardware and software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in the field.
  • Experience using benchmark software tools to measure system performance accurately.
  • Experience with Python and shell scripting.
  • Solid foundation in computer architecture fundamentals.
  • Experience using power measurement tools with benchmark software.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze SoC power and performance across multiple functional subsystems.
  • Use existing and new workloads and benchmarks for performance analysis.
  • Identify performance limitations and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues across teams.
  • Demonstrate curiosity about hardware/software co-design and a drive to learn independently.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
