The role of Embedded Software Engineer at Amazon Robotics involves developing and maintaining safety and non-safety rated robotic systems. Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- 5+ years of development experience in C or C++ within an embedded environment or with robotic systems
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Familiarity with developing in a safety standards controlled environment such as IEC 61508 or ISO 26262
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain both safety and non-safety rated systems for Amazon's autonomous robot fleet.
- Learn and master multiple components including networking, security, and various sensors.
- Participate in the architecture of complex systems and collaborate with coworkers to achieve team goals.
- Provide feedback in the peer review process and communicate effectively with technical leadership.
- Create solutions that balance world-class performance and safety.
- Engage in the design process, analyze potential safety hazards, and implement new products and features.
- Write automated tests or conduct live testing to debug and root cause issues.
