Job description
The Operations Reliability Engineer at Amazon will support the Logistics North America Engineering team, focusing on enhancing reliability across delivery station processes and operations. This role involves driving proactive reliability initiatives, conducting root cause analyses, and developing data-driven solutions to complex engineering problems. The team emphasizes a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration, ensuring that reliability improvements are executed effectively. The engineer will work closely with various stakeholders to analyze performance data and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- 3+ years of experience as an industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in material handling equipment (MHE) or automation environments
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel including macros, pivots, and lookups
- Experience with reporting and data visualization tools such as Quick Sight, Tableau, or Power BI
- Knowledge of performance metrics such as OEE, downtime, throughput, or quality
- Experience with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing methodologies
- Master's degree or above in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
Responsibilities
- Lead root cause analysis for high-impact and recurring failures to identify true root causes and ensure lasting corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain Failure Modes and Effects Analysis to proactively identify risks and prevent future failures.
- Analyze equipment and operational data to identify trends and performance gaps, translating findings into actionable reliability improvements.
- Lead cross-functional reliability improvements by partnering with operations, engineering, maintenance, and external vendors.
- Conduct technical deep dives into advanced technology applications to identify reliability risks and design-out failure modes.
- Create and maintain business intelligence dashboards and data visualizations for transparency and data-driven prioritization.
- Analyze high-impact event data to identify patterns and inform engineering investment decisions.
- Translate complex data sets into clear narratives and recommendations for stakeholders.
