Job description
The Senior Security Architecture Specialist position at Morgan Stanley focuses on providing specialist cyber expertise and creating solutions to protect the organization's systems and networks. The specialist will be responsible for security design tooling and architecture standards, ensuring compliance obligations are translated into developer-friendly architecture patterns. The position requires collaboration with principal engineers and engineering leads to drive security standards and governance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of work experience in the IT field or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience designing and governing SDLC security controls at scale.
- Hands-on experience with policy as code frameworks and the ability to review and write policies.
- Experience producing architecture decision records, threat models, or equivalent design governance artifacts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong scripting background in Python or PowerShell.
Responsibilities
- Steward the security architecture standard across all verticals.
- Produce compliance traceability artifacts mapping architecture decisions to compliance requirements.
- Drive cross team architecture through influence with principal engineers and engineering leads.
- Support security standards and create templates to increase the efficiency of security programs.
- Operate and evolve the design governance toolchain.
- Define the ADR lifecycles and ensure decision records remain authoritative.
