Job description

As an ASIC Design Engineer in the Pixel IP design team, you will play a crucial role in the development of high-performance, power-efficient system-on-chips (SoCs) that enhance Apple products. You will work closely with various teams to ensure seamless integration and implementation of complex subsystems. Your focus will be on creating elegant solutions for pixel processing engines, contributing to the overall multimedia IP design. This position requires collaboration across disciplines to deliver functional products to millions of customers efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Deep experience in IP/SoC design and integration at the chip or subsystem level
  • Industry exposure to ASIC/FPGA design methodology, including logic synthesis and static timing analysis
  • Familiarity with common on-chip bus protocols such as AMBA (AXI, AHB, APB)
  • Experience in low-power design issues, tools, and methodologies including UPF power intent specification
  • Familiarity with relevant scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and TCL
  • Experience in datapath and pixel-centric designs is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Write detailed micro-architectural and integration specifications
  • Perform digital hardware design by writing high-quality RTL with embedded assertions and cover points
  • Collaborate with physical design teams to optimize timing, area, and power for designs in silicon
  • Ensure designs follow industry best practices for handling power, clock, and reset domains
  • Work closely with design verification and formal verification teams to debug and verify functionality and performance
  • Manage deliverables independently to align with project goals and support cross-functional engineering efforts

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
