Rivian is seeking a detail-oriented Design Release Engineer (DRE) specializing in Halfshafts and Spline Shaft Design to join their Driveline Engineering team. This role involves owning the lifecycle of halfshaft assemblies and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-performance driveline solutions. The DRE will work closely with NVH, Vehicle Integration, and manufacturing teams to ensure optimal performance and durability of driveline components. The position is based in Plymouth, MI and requires a strong background in automotive engineering.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of professional engineering experience in automotive driveline, chassis, or powertrain systems.
• Experience in major automotive CAD software such as CATIA V5/V6, NX, or Creo.
• Deep understanding of CV joint kinematics, spline standards, structural mechanics, and fatigue analysis.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Lead the design, packaging, and engineering release of halfshaft assemblies and CV joints.
• Conduct 3D CAD modeling and 2D drafting to ensure proper fitment and articulation.
• Collaborate with Vehicle Integration and Chassis teams to define plunge requirements and joint articulation limits.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation including DFMEAs and design rules.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Tier-1 driveline suppliers.
