Job description
As a Sr. Firmware Integration Engineer at Rivian, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of software and firmware flashing processes on the General Assembly line. You will serve as the primary interface between software development and operations teams, focusing on optimizing manufacturing and testing processes. This position is based in Normal, Illinois, and requires a strong background in engineering and diagnostics. Your work will directly contribute to the launch of innovative electric vehicles while promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements
- BS degree in mechanical, electrical, software, or related engineering discipline
- 7+ years of experience in an engineering role in or closely related to manufacturing
- Expertise with Vector and/or Peak CAN based diagnostic tools or ability to learn quickly
- Strong knowledge in electric diagnostics and design for manufacturing
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary interface between the software development teams and operations teams.
- Interpret technical requirements from software teams and provide feedback for optimization.
- Lead and develop pre-launch builds, vehicle commissioning, and sustain production.
- Investigate process issues leading to electrical and software failures and drive resolutions.
- Provide regular, metric-based project updates to the management team.
