Job description

As a Hardware Design Engineer at Qualcomm, you will be part of a creative team focused on developing cutting-edge 6G prototype platforms and high-performance hardware modules. This position involves both circuit design and physical validation, guiding high-speed digital designs from schematic architecture to PCB layout and lab testing. You will work closely with global teams across various disciplines to ensure the delivery of high-quality hardware solutions. Your role will be pivotal in driving innovation in hardware engineering.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 1–2 years of professional hardware engineering or related product-development work experience.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience using lab test equipment to isolate and troubleshoot hardware issues.
  • Fundamental knowledge of high-speed digital board design principles, including impedance control, crosstalk, and power delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Drive schematic capture, select hardware components, and manage complex bills of materials for multi-layer digital designs.
  • Oversee and actively participate in the physical PCB layout process, ensuring compliance with high-speed digital routing rules.
  • Perform physical board bring-up, debugging, and functional characterization of prototype hardware in the lab.
  • Collaborate with internal Signal Integrity and Power Integrity teams to optimize layout topologies for high-speed buses.
  • Document detailed test plans, validation reports, and hardware engineering change orders.

Benefits

  • Qualcomm offers competitive compensation, annual bonuses, stock programs, comprehensive healthcare coverage, retirement plans, wellness programs, parental leave, flexible work options, and professional development opportunities.
