Job description
Qualcomm is seeking an experienced Chipset Power System Engineer to tackle power challenges and develop innovative solutions for optimizing power in Snapdragon chipsets. The engineer will lead a cross-functional team to model SOC/chipset power and enhance low power consumption. This role involves guiding the design and development cycles to achieve power-efficient solutions. The engineer will also interact with customers to address specific power requirements.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent field is required.
- 15 years of professional experience in low power feature analysis and design is preferred.
- Architectural knowledge in application processors, modem processors, AR/VR, machine learning, IoT, automotive, or computing is necessary.
- Experience in hardware or software design or optimizations of low power features is required.
- System level power modeling and analysis experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Conduct power architecture and tradeoff analysis.
- Perform chipset and system level power modeling, analysis, and optimization for SOC, chipset, and platform solutions.
- Identify power requirements and quantify power gap/risk areas.
- Optimize power efficiency and performance of current designs and help architect future products.
- Guide multi-function groups through the design cycle to meet power targets.
- Design power features and collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, software, hardware, and production test.
- Engage with customers to promote chipset capabilities and understand specific power requirements.
- Model power for customer-specific use cases and designs.
