Job description
The Principal Security Engineer will be part of the Microsoft Edge Browser Security team, focusing on enhancing the security of Microsoft Edge and the broader web ecosystem. This role involves defining security strategies, identifying risks, and driving security investments. The engineer will engage in proactive and reactive security measures, collaborating with various teams to mitigate vulnerabilities and respond to threats. Additionally, the position emphasizes mentoring and leading security research initiatives to improve overall security posture.
Requirements
- Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 3+ years experience in relevant areas OR equivalent experience.
- Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 4+ years experience in relevant areas OR equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Security, or related field AND 6+ years experience in relevant areas OR equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in vulnerability research and exploit analysis.
- Experience in code auditing and secure architecture review.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the security landscape to identify emerging trends and potential vulnerabilities.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives to design and implement security solutions.
- Develop and oversee the implementation of security analysis plans aligned with business objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert to identify potential security issues and tools.
- Direct organization-wide security reviews and synthesize findings in analysis reports.
