The Entry-Level Engineer position at Jacobs focuses on designing intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and communications systems. The role is part of a collaborative team of about 20 systems engineers and specialists in the New England Systems and Technology Group. The engineer will engage in large-scale infrastructure projects and apply their design knowledge to create innovative solutions. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects while supporting the implementation and commissioning of various systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer, or Civil engineering or related field from an accredited program.
- 1 year of experience in the design and commissioning of intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and/or communication networks.
- Working knowledge of intelligent transportation systems, security systems, and/or communication networks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver's license and ability to transport self to sites on short notice.
- Local to greater Boston MA, or willing to relocate to the area.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Systems team and other disciplines on designing ITS, Security, and Communications systems for public and private clients.
- Provide design packages that include plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Provide calculations to support designs.
- Support the implementation of these systems by providing field inspections, reviewing submittals, and responding to requests for information.
- Support the commissioning and testing of these systems.
- Research technologies to provide solutions to clients.
- Attend team and client meetings.
- Attend client site visits throughout New England and nationally.
