The Bridge Engineer will be a key member of the Northwest Bridge Team at Jacobs, working on a variety of transportation projects across the Northwest and nationwide. This role involves collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to provide technical expertise in the design and construction of transportation structures. The engineer will have opportunities to grow in structural design and mentor junior staff. This position is based in Boise, Idaho or Spokane, Washington, and offers a hybrid work setup.

• A minimum of 8-15 years of progressive experience as a Structural Engineer in the design of transportation structures and/or bridges.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university or college.
• Professional Engineer License, preferably in Idaho.
• Experience with multiple structure types including precast and post-tensioned concrete girder bridges, steel girder bridges, bridge widenings, and bridge rehabilitations.
• Strong technical skills and a thorough understanding of technical standards for bridge design, construction, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

• Provide technical expertise in completing transportation structure design and construction projects from conceptual and preliminary design to final design and construction.
• Develop structural calculations, designs, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Train, direct, and mentor junior engineers and CAD staff.
• Coordinate design activities and meetings between Jacobs staff and subcontractors.
• Assist in business development activities and proposal efforts.
