Tesla is seeking a motivated Engineer for an R&D role focused on designing, fabricating, installing, and commissioning custom parts and equipment. The position requires adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with daily challenges that involve solving design problems and optimizing processes. The engineer will work closely with operators and maintenance technicians to enhance equipment operability and efficiency. This role also includes generating CAD models and overseeing parts fabrication and installations.

• Fluency in Solidworks
• Experience designing custom parts
• Competency with tolerancing and GD&T
• Knowledge of parts fabrication methods and limitations
• Experience generating installation plans
• Competency with power tools

• Observe the production line to generate custom design fixes that increase OEE
• Work with operators and maintenance technicians to improve operability
• Generate CAD models and fabrication drawings
• Oversee parts fabrication and inspect for quality
• Generate installation and start-up procedures for equipment modifications
• Oversee complex installations
• Ensure seamless integration of machine upgrades
