The equipment control engineer will join the Optimus geartrain manufacturing team, focusing on high precision equipment build experience in gearbox and rotating machinery design. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle, from design to full production. The engineer will support the establishment of a world-class production line for gearboxes and drive scalable design and production methods. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering fundamentals, hands-on experience, and a passion for manufacturing equipment and process development.

• Proficiency in standard and safety PLC programming such as Siemens TIA Portal and Allen Bradley Studio 5000.
• Proficiency in script-based programming including Python, Go, and SQL.
• Proficiency in robot programming with systems like Fanuc, Kuka, and ABB.
• Proficiency in servo system commissioning using Siemens SIMATIC and Rockwell Kinetix.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D vision system programming with tools like Keyence XGX and Cognex Insight.
• In-depth knowledge of equipment safety standards such as ANSI/RIA 15.06 and OSHA compliance.
• Degree in Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Participate in initial equipment conceptual development while balancing product specifications and process control requirements.
• Implement reliable safety systems for safeguarding high-volume manufacturing equipment.
• Architect, write, and debug PLC logic with an emphasis on code organization and maintainability.
• Architect, write, and debug programs for subsystems including robots and manufacturing execution systems.
• Select and size electrical and electromechanical components for production.
• Generate HMI screens for complex machinery to aid in troubleshooting.
• Lay out new industrial electrical control panels compliant with relevant standards.
• Manage electrical cabinet builds and field wiring for production.
• Introduce automated processes into production and train teams for post-deployment support.
