The Software Engineer role focuses on owning the front door to diagnostics for Optimus-related issues. The engineer will be responsible for diagnosing software problems, triaging escalations, and driving cross-team resolutions. This position requires a strong software development skillset and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The engineer will also work on improving diagnostic workflows and participate in on-call rotations to enhance incident response quality.

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• 3+ years of software engineering experience building production systems or operational tooling
• Proficiency in Python and/or Go, plus comfort with modern web front ends like React/TypeScript
• Strong software fundamentals with the ability to design, implement, test, and ship features independently
• Demonstrated production support or incident-response excellence
• Excellent interpersonal skills with production, service, and engineering stakeholders

• Serve as the primary engineering responder for Optimus-related diagnostic issues raised by manufacturing, production, and service
• Triage escalations quickly to isolate the issue and drive to resolution
• Rapidly ship software fixes and tooling improvements
• Coordinate with firmware, networking, manufacturing software, or hardware partners when root causes are outside diagnostic software
• Build and improve diagnostic workflows, dashboards, and automation to prevent recurring failures
• Create runbooks and self-serve diagnostics to reduce escalations
• Participate in on-call rotations for Optimus diagnostics and improve incident response quality
• Feed field and line learnings into the product roadmap to prioritize features that reduce mean time to diagnose and recover
• Write production-quality full-stack code using React/TypeScript and Python/Go
