Job description
Tesla’s Manufacturing Test Engineering group is looking for a Technical Program Manager to lead the development of custom manufacturing equipment. This role involves collaboration with mechanical, electrical, controls, and software engineers to create testing equipment for Tesla products. The Technical Program Manager will work with cross-functional teams to identify product constraints and drive the development and implementation of equipment globally. Effective communication and project management skills are essential to meet aggressive deadlines and manage project risks.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, in a mix of engineering and program management roles.
- Proven experience creating, maintaining, and clearly communicating project schedules while collaborating cross-functionally.
- Understanding of design cycle and design problem solving processes.
- Familiarity with TPM tools such as Confluence, Jira, Microsoft SharePoint, Polarion, and SolidWorks PDM.
- Exposure to electrical test instruments such as DMMs, Oscilloscopes, and Power Analyzers.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and communicate schedules and plans for developing and deploying custom manufacturing equipment.
- Drive action with internal and cross-functional teams to successfully complete projects within time, budget, and resource constraints.
- Track project progress and report effectively on status, blockers, and changes to the plan of record.
- Identify creative and timely solutions to key program challenges.
- Track resourcing of projects and drive resource balancing between different program priorities.
- Advise and develop systems and best practices for communication and change management.
- Complete appropriate documentation and ensure accuracy of data across Tesla systems.
