The Capacity Engineer will play a crucial role in planning and delivering server and hardware capacity requirements in a hyperscale environment. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities while working independently and within teams.

Requirements

  • Experience with process ownership and development.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-level networking, servers, and storage installations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data center infrastructure systems and applications.
  • Familiarity with data center power and cooling constraints.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tailor messages to multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and deliver at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own accountability for the three capacity workflows: receiving, moves, and decommissioning.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop strategies that improve data center operations.
  • Analyze business capacity demands and translate that data into local plans for rapid delivery.
  • Plan and lead complex data center infrastructure capacity projects considering interdependencies.
  • Build cross-functional relationships to influence policies and improve operations.
  • Develop and share best practices across global data centers for capacity management.
  • Drive alignment and execution of key capacity initiatives across functional partners.
  • Lead data analytics and root cause analysis to identify inefficiencies and drive resolution.
  • Create and improve global standards for processes and workflows related to capacity.
  • Work with hardware and software engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Mentor capacity team members and provide guidance on challenges.
  • Apply deep knowledge of infrastructure as it relates to the capacity role.

Benefits

  • Employees at Meta are often offered comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision coverage, mental-health resources, family planning support (fertility, adoption, surrogacy), and caregiving programs. Financial benefits typically include a competitive retirement plan, equity awards, life insurance, and access to financial coaching and legal support. Time-off benefits commonly feature generous PTO and holidays, unlimited sick time, various paid leaves, flexible “Global Travel Days,” and a 30-day paid break every five years.
