Meta is looking for a Performance & Capacity Engineer to join the Capacity Planning and Optimization Engineering team. This role focuses on optimizing capacity plans across all Meta products and physical infrastructure, managing significant investments annually. The engineer will build software and mathematical models to enhance capacity planning efficiency and quality. This position offers the opportunity to work cross-functionally with various engineering and business teams to support Meta's rapid growth.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field.
• 8+ years of experience in performance or software engineering and/or optimization pertinent data science.
• 8+ years of experience in designing and implementing models and optimization algorithms.
• 4+ years of experience in coding/scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, or PHP.
• 4+ years of experience with LP solvers such as Xpress or Gurobi.
• Experience working with distributed systems at scale.
• Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams.
• Experience optimizing complex systems and driving business impact.

• Own infrastructure capacity planning for Meta, including Servers, Data Centers, and Network.
• Design, implement, and launch software systems to improve capacity planning efficiency and quality.
• Contribute to end-to-end capacity planning processes, methodologies, and data to deliver optimized plans.
• Manage and resolve critical escalations and exceptions in all areas of capacity planning.
• Build linear programming models to perform simulation and optimization studies.
• Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, and make recommendations.
• Partner across Infra teams to find optimal ways to scale infrastructure.
• Navigate complex tradeoffs to balance team and company priorities.
