The Robotics Supervisor leads a team of Engineering Technicians within the Manufacturing Engineering team, focusing on the fabrication, assembly, and integration of mobile robot prototypes. This role ensures high-quality and safe operations while overseeing daily activities and managing workforce training and development. The Supervisor also addresses complex technical challenges and drives process efficiency from beta builds to production ramp-up. Additionally, they maintain documentation and communication platforms to support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience as an Engineering Technician or in a technical supervisory role within Robotics, Automotive, precision medical devices, R&D, or Manufacturing.
- Associate Degree, relevant technical work experience, or equivalent, with hands-on experience using hand and power tools and high- and low-voltage systems.
- Proven ability to supervise a team of technicians, including scheduling, performance reviews, and career development.
- Practical working knowledge of process sheets, standardized work, and factory line operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis and implementing countermeasures.
- Ability to interpret drawings and 3D CAD and read mechanical drawings; experience with CAD and/or electrical design preferred.
- Proficiency with key systems/programs such as Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, and Confluence.
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Shift flexible with high commitment and ability to work a variable schedule, including daily/weekend overtime as needed.
- Ability to repeat physical/mental activities with accuracy, including responsible time management and prioritization skills.
Responsibilities
- Plan, supervise, and coordinate the daily work activities of the Engineering Technician team.
- Lead technicians in the fabrication, assembly, and integration of mobile robot prototypes.
- Provide training, mentoring, and career development for technicians.
- Oversee validation of new designs for manufacturability and support new product launch schedules.
- Serve as advisor and decision-maker during project critical path situations.
- Drive root cause analysis and countermeasure development across the team.
- Ensure team adherence to standardized work, safety, quality, and production efficiency targets.
- Oversee group workflow and resource planning to support variable production demands.
- Review evaluations of new parts and processes, providing feedback to design engineering.
- Maintain documentation and communication platforms to support team operations.
