The AI Accelerator Module Validation Engineer will be part of the Hardware Design, Rack-scale Technology and Platforms engineering team at Meta. This role focuses on owning and driving module-specific test plans and testing to ensure quality, reliability, and performance of hardware modules before mass production. The engineer will collaborate with Electrical Engineers and Power Engineers in a cross-functional environment, working on multiple parallel programs. The position is critical for advancing test methodologies and ensuring that vendor testing meets Meta's standards.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 8+ years of experience in hardware validation, test engineering, or product qualification in a server, networking, or high-performance computing environment
- 4+ years of experience developing and executing validation test plans covering electrical, thermal, and mechanical domains
- Knowledge of server module architectures including memory (DDR4/DDR5/HBM), high-speed I/O (PCIe, CXL, NVLink), and power delivery systems
- 4+ years of experience with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers, thermal chambers, and data acquisition systems
- Demonstrated expertise performing root cause analysis and driving corrective actions across cross-functional teams
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent validation programs
- Experience conveying technical findings in writing and verbally to engineering and non-engineering audiences
Responsibilities
- Own and drive module-specific validation test plans across the full product lifecycle in conjunction with module Electrical Engineers and Power Engineers.
- Execute and oversee electrical, thermal, signal integrity, and power delivery validation testing for server and AI/HPC modules.
- Advance test plans and methodologies across module products, ensuring comprehensive coverage of functional, performance, reliability, and compliance requirements.
- Evaluate and ensure ODM/JDM partner testing plans, procedures, and results meet Meta's quality and reliability standards.
- Ensure equipment, resources, and contingent workers are effectively allocated and driving closure for module testing milestones.
- Develop, document, and maintain validation test procedures, specifications, and acceptance criteria.
- Perform root cause analysis and failure analysis on test escapes and field returns, driving corrective actions to closure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Thermal, Firmware, and Supply Chain to ensure holistic product readiness.
- Define and track validation metrics and KPIs.
- Provide regular status updates and risk assessments to program leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement of test infrastructure, automation, and lab capabilities to support scaling across multiple parallel programs.
- Partner with Data Center Site Operations and NPI teams to incorporate field feedback into validation requirements.
Benefits
- Employees at Meta are often offered comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision coverage, mental-health resources, family planning support (fertility, adoption, surrogacy), and caregiving programs. Financial benefits typically include a competitive retirement plan, equity awards, life insurance, and access to financial coaching and legal support. Time-off benefits commonly feature generous PTO and holidays, unlimited sick time, various paid leaves, flexible “Global Travel Days,” and a 30-day paid break every five years.
