Job description

Meta is seeking a Hardware Engineer focused on accelerator design to contribute to the development of custom AI accelerators and high-performance compute hardware. This role involves working across various engineering domains to bring accelerator systems from concept to production, directly supporting AI workloads for Meta's products and services. The engineer will engage in tasks related to electrical systems design, validation, and collaboration with multiple engineering teams. This position is crucial for enhancing Meta's data center infrastructure at scale.

Requirements

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical or hardware engineering with a focus on high-performance compute, accelerator, or data center hardware design
  • 2+ years of experience with PCB schematic capture, layout review, and signal integrity analysis for high-speed digital interfaces
  • 2+ years of experience with power delivery network design and analysis, including decoupling strategy and voltage regulator selection
  • Experience with hardware bring-up, electrical characterization, and debugging using lab instrumentation

Responsibilities

  • Design and validate electrical systems for custom AI accelerator hardware
  • Develop and execute hardware bring-up plans for accelerator boards and system-level platforms
  • Collaborate with silicon, firmware, and thermal engineering teams to define electrical requirements
  • Perform pre- and post-silicon electrical characterization, including power rail measurements and eye diagram analysis
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics and design documentation for accelerator subsystems
  • Support design-for-manufacturability reviews and work with contract manufacturers
  • Analyze failure modes and conduct root cause investigations for electrical faults
  • Contribute to the definition of electrical test strategies and automated test equipment setups
  • Engage with component vendors and suppliers to evaluate and qualify power management ICs and connectors

Benefits

  • Employees at Meta are often offered comprehensive benefits, including medical/dental/vision coverage, mental-health resources, family planning support (fertility, adoption, surrogacy), and caregiving programs. Financial benefits typically include a competitive retirement plan, equity awards, life insurance, and access to financial coaching and legal support. Time-off benefits commonly feature generous PTO and holidays, unlimited sick time, various paid leaves, flexible “Global Travel Days,” and a 30-day paid break every five years.
