Job description

Tesla Motors is looking for a motivated and experienced Technical Project Manager (TPM) to join the Service Supply Chain team, focusing on distribution, packaging, and logistics. The ideal candidate will have a background in warehousing and experience with medium to high-volume products. This role emphasizes problem-solving and continuous improvement, requiring the TPM to identify risks in distribution and packaging processes and develop project plans for resolution. The position involves collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance in logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial engineering, Supply Chain Engineering, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years related experience in quality assurance or project management in a supply chain or manufacturing company
  • Technical degree in computer science, information systems technology, and software engineering
  • Data-oriented with an analytics background and proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and SQL
  • Experience in QMS-9000, ISO/TS 16949, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, and PFMEA
  • Exemplary verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work independently
  • Project management experience balancing time across several projects and working cross-functionally

Responsibilities

  • Own quality data gathering, creating reports, and ensuring accurate cost attribution with various vendors
  • Manage packaging compliance with internal and external suppliers, distribution, and returns
  • Drive and deliver packaging improvements based on quality data from suppliers and distribution
  • Standardize supply chain life cycle packaging requirements from supplier to distribution to service
  • Develop and advocate logistics quality compliance standards in collaboration with the Service Logistics team
  • Support quality reliability and root cause analysis efforts using internal data reports
