Candidates should be self-motivated software engineers with expertise in infrastructure, security, and reliability. The position offers the opportunity to work on challenging IoT and service engineering problems that impact millions of Tesla owners.
Requirements

- Strong belief in mentorship and ownership in work.
Responsibilities
- Design and write software that enables rapid prototyping by development teams while ensuring high reliability and availability.
- Drive the migration of large-scale, distributed fleet applications towards cloud-native microservices.
- Influence architectural decisions with a focus on security, scalability, and high performance.
- Automate the build and deployment of infrastructure using Docker, Kubernetes, and other orchestration technologies in a hybrid-cloud environment.
- Setup and maintain monitoring, metrics, and reporting systems for observability and actionable alerting.
- Set up and support CI/CD processes.
- Scale through data-driven capacity planning within both physical data centers and cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and respond to incidents, including mitigation, correction, and prevention.
Benefits
- Employees at Tesla are often offered day-one coverage with multiple medical options (some at $0 paycheck cost), dental/vision, company HSA contributions, a 401(k) match, and equity programs. Most roles also include paid time off and holidays, family-building support, employee assistance, commuter and childcare benefits, and access to discounts and wellness programs.
