Job description
The Facilities Controls Engineer at Gigafactory Texas will support site manufacturing by designing, developing, and implementing control systems for various building systems. This role requires collaboration with facilities staff and contractors to ensure operational requirements are met while also focusing on energy efficiency projects. The engineer will troubleshoot control system issues and maintain documentation. This position is crucial in accelerating the transition to sustainable energy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
- 8-10 years of direct operational facilities experience in high-tech infrastructure
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced proficiency in programming industrial processes including PLCs and Human Machine Interface
- Proficiency in programming and tuning variable frequency drives
- Exposure to a wide variety of industrial sensors and equipment
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement control systems for facilities, including HVAC, Hydronics, and Chemical systems
- Develop and maintain control system documentation, including schematics and technical specifications
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues, including hardware and software problems
- Collaborate with facilities staff, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure control systems meet operational requirements
- Develop and implement energy efficiency projects to reduce energy consumption and costs
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in control systems engineering
