The Supplier Industrialization Engineer role at Tesla focuses on supporting the quality systems for suppliers, particularly in the casting and forging sectors. Based in Fremont, California, or Austin, Texas, this position involves collaborating with internal teams and supplier partners to ensure high-quality parts are produced efficiently. The engineer will assess and improve supplier quality systems, validate processes, and drive improvements in quality culture. This role requires travel to manufacturing sites and real-time decision-making to support rapid product development cycles.

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in manufacturing and quality engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience supporting quality systems and process development with supplier partners, particularly in metal casting or aluminum forging.
• Experience in developing process quality plans and designing vision systems or auto-gauging for complex machined parts.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong technical writing skills and the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
• Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis.
• Willingness to travel 30-40% of the time, sometimes on short notice.

• Plan, organize, and lead industrialization activities across the supply chain, focusing on quality systems for castings and forgings.
• Identify, develop, manage, audit, and improve supplier manufacturing, assembly, and quality control processes.
• Conduct supplier launch readiness audits to ensure part performance and delivery requirements are met.
• Collaborate with Tesla Design, Quality, and Manufacturing teams to guide part design for manufacturability and quality.
• Lead and improve supplier process development and launch readiness for new products and design changes.
• Coach suppliers to establish robust processes that enable efficient, high-quality production.
• Validate supplier corrective actions for robustness and sustainability, applying systemic solutions across similar risks.
