As an Electrical Engineer with Tesla's Facilities team, you will be crucial in the growth and maintenance of high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities. This field-based position supports 24/7 manufacturing facilities near Brookshire, TX. Candidates should have extensive construction experience in industries such as semiconductors, solar, and battery. You will work closely with Operations and Maintenance teams to ensure compliance and optimize electrical systems.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of direct facilities experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities.
• Professional registration as an Electrical Engineer in California or another state is preferred.
• Experience with MV & HV equipment including design, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Advanced knowledge in electric utility substation and distribution system engineering.
• Experience in electrical power system analysis software, preferably SKM Power Tools.
• Significant experience in electric utility system safe work practices in accordance with OSHA and other applicable codes.

• Conduct comprehensive energy audits and load calculations to identify optimization opportunities.
• Manage the operation of medium and low voltage distribution equipment.
• Prepare engineering specifications for bid invitations and evaluate vendor proposals.
• Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to plan and execute downtime activities.
• Review design plans and provide cost estimating services within electrical scope.
• Visit construction sites to ensure compliance with design intent and report discrepancies.
• Establish standards and specifications for installation and maintenance of electrical systems.
• Provide technical support for the implementation and maintenance of energy systems.
• Work across sites to determine commonality and implement best practices for reliability.
