Job description
The Quality Engineering Manager will lead the effort to reinvent quality assurance for Apple’s client apps in the AI era. This role focuses on building quality processes that integrate seamlessly into the software development lifecycle, ensuring that features are delivered with high standards across various operating systems. The manager will work closely with engineering teams to define test strategies and maintain quality from concept through release. This position requires a blend of hands-on engineering skills and leadership to foster a culture of quality across the organization.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional work experience in software QA, including 4+ years managing or leading quality engineering teams.
- Hands-on engineering ability to build test tooling and review systems-level code.
- Thorough understanding of the SDLC, specifically CI/CD and automated QA processes in an agile development environment.
- Outstanding communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Own quality strategy for client apps from concept through release.
- Define the test strategy and release-readiness bar for features shipped across macOS, iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS.
- Pair AI-driven QA and automated test infrastructure with human oversight to ensure quality.
- Mentor a team of engineers to instill high standards in the organization.
- Use data to communicate quality status to partners and leadership.
- Create and implement quality processes and best practices across multiple products and teams.
