Apple Services Engineering is seeking innovative Site Reliability Engineers to maintain and enhance the infrastructure that supports Apple's global services. The role involves managing applications and infrastructure on both bare-metal and cloud platforms to ensure high availability and performance. The team works with vast amounts of data and is responsible for key features in products like Apple Music and Maps. Candidates should be passionate about designing and running systems that impact millions of customers.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 5+ years of software development or production operations experience in a large-scale environment.
- Proficiency in authoring and releasing code in Go, Python, or Java.
- Experience operating production applications at scale, including performance testing and managing distributed systems.
- Understanding of the Linux Operating System, containers, virtualization, and standard networking protocols.
- Proficiency with open source data analytics or governance technologies such as Flink, Hive, or Hadoop.
- Experience managing applications and infrastructure on AWS, GCP, and Ali Cloud.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain systems and infrastructure for Apple's global services.
- Ensure high availability and performance of services at a planetary scale.
- Collaborate with platform teams to manage large-scale data processing and storage.
- Automate manual operations and evolve them into automatic processes.
- Troubleshoot and solve problems using a scientific approach.
