Job description

The Sensing and Connectivity Location team at Apple focuses on developing software and infrastructure for positioning services across Apple products. This role involves enhancing the accuracy and availability of on-device location services through curated network-delivered aiding data. Candidates will work with advanced algorithms and sensor integration to improve user navigation and mapping experiences. A strong background in software development and positioning technologies is essential for success in this position.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, Geomatics, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of software or positioning experience.
  • Strong software development skills in C/C++, Java, and/or Python.
  • Demonstrated depth in GNSS positioning concepts, cloud-based service design, or production monitoring systems.
  • Working knowledge of RF or alternate location-sensing technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Advance the accuracy and availability of Apple's on-device location services.
  • Integrate multiple on-device sensor suites and network-provisioned aiding data.
  • Develop and ship software for embedded or consumer hardware platforms.
  • Collaborate with external vendors or partners on technical data-integration efforts.
  • Present technical findings or recommendations to management or non-technical audiences.
