The Network Development Engineer role within the AWS Core Networking team focuses on developing, deploying, and optimizing the performance of the Machine Learning network infrastructure across global datacenters. This position involves collaboration with automation teams and internal customers to bring network designs from concept to production. The team is dedicated to ensuring efficient and reliable connectivity for AWS services. Candidates will work in a diverse environment that values inclusivity and innovation.

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols.
• Experience in major internet routing protocols, specifically BGP and OSPF.
• Experience with network operating systems such as Cisco IOS and Junos.
• Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
• 1+ years of data center experience or experience in networking.
• 1+ years of Linux operating systems experience or experience in similar technical or vocational roles.
• Knowledge of IT best practice frameworks (ITIL, COBIT) and operational excellence concepts or methodologies.
• Knowledge of network hardware and packet forwarding architectures.
• Experience with Unix and scripting in Perl, shell, C or C++.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals, including transformer architecture, training/inference lifecycles, and optimization techniques.

• Develop, operate, and optimize the performance of the Machine Learning network infrastructure across all network fabrics.
• Automate the network across multiple global datacenters, including existing footprints and greenfield locations.
• Work closely with automation teams to define the tools that allow scaling at higher volume.
• Collaborate with internal customers on designs and solutions, bringing those from concept to production.
• Create and update network standards to ensure deployment to these standards.
• Implement changes on the network as required.
