The Amazon Managed Streaming for Kafka (MSK) team is looking for engineers passionate about data streaming and open source. In this role, you will contribute to the MSK service, which simplifies the use of Apache Kafka for processing streaming data. You will work on the entire stack, including APIs, workflows, and core Kafka platform improvements. This position offers a unique opportunity to bridge open source and Amazon-internal software while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

• Design and build new features for the MSK service
• Make performance improvements to the Kafka platform
• Identify and investigate new technologies for streaming data
• Prototype solutions and build scalable services
• Collaborate with other engineers to define the team's roadmap
