Job description
As a Qualcomm Modem Technology Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, verifying, validating, and commercializing Wireless WAN modem air interface software. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop high-quality modem IP that meets industry and customer requirements. This role focuses on applying modem knowledge to assist in the implementation of multi-RAT technologies and developing test cases to validate designs. You will also write technical documentation for Modem Tech software projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- 1+ year of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, or Python.
- 1+ year of applicable wireless, semiconductor, and/or embedded software industry experience.
- 6+ months of WWAN modem development specific experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, implementation, verification, validation, and commercialization of Wireless WAN modem air interface technologies software.
- Support the transceiver, HW control, and wireless Radio Access Stratum software implementation of a multi-RAT from industry specifications.
- Apply knowledge of RF and/or WWAN L1/L2/L3 specifications to assist in the implementation of shared resources of a multi-mode modem.
- Develop models and simulations to design well-defined components.
- Collaborate with team members to develop a modem IP that meets industry and customer requirements.
- Develop test cases to test and verify designs for well-defined components.
- Write technical documentation and feature descriptions for Modem Tech software projects.
