The Senior Language Engineer role at Microsoft AI Experiences focuses on enhancing the capabilities of the personal AI, Copilot. This position involves collaborating with a diverse team of data scientists, AI researchers, engineers, designers, and product managers to improve language models. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about creating world-class consumer experiences. This role is pivotal in shaping how Copilot interacts with users through language.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of related experience, or a Master's Degree with 3+ years, or a Doctorate with 1+ year of related experience.
- 3+ years of experience working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
- Hands-on experience with prompt design, context window management, and model evaluation.
- 2+ years of experience shipping consumer-facing products and iteratively improving them.
- 1+ years of experience in building LLM applications with familiarity in agent and orchestration frameworks.
Responsibilities
- Craft and refine the context and prompts used to steer, train, and evaluate the language models for Microsoft Copilot.
- Create evaluations and establish frameworks to measure both technical performance and emotional intelligence.
- Research and implement novel prompting techniques.
- Extract insights from extensive language datasets to improve model response quality.
- Own the status of key projects, proactively identifying risks and proposing solutions for timely delivery.
