Job description
The Technical Program Manager at Apple will work closely with supplier engineers and cross-functional teams to develop and deliver core technologies that enhance customer experiences. This role serves as a crucial link between Apple Design and supplier manufacturing processes, ensuring that technical risks are identified and mitigated. The position requires a strong focus on high-volume manufacturing and the ability to manage complex projects effectively. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise and program management skills to drive innovation and quality in product development.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with design and/or manufacturing process development.
- Familiarity with factory operations, 5S, operator training, safety, and security.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least one area such as metal forming, molding, or machine learning.
- Experience with compiling data and making recommendations for product designs and assembly drawings.
- Experience using process control methodologies, PFMEA, and failure analysis methods.
- Degree in engineering (Mechanical, Materials, or Industrial preferred) or a graduate degree in supply chain and/or operations.
Responsibilities
- Engage with supplier engineers and the Apple cross-functional team to develop core technologies.
- Act as a link between Apple Design and supplier manufacturing processes.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with product development.
- Lead a multi-functional team to achieve new product objectives including quality, yield, and cost.
- Simulate line throughput and resolve bottlenecks for high volume mass production.
- Compile data and make recommendations based on statistical analysis using Six Sigma principles.
