Job description

The Module Reliability Engineer position at Apple focuses on ensuring the reliability of new technology components by identifying high-risk failure modes early in the design process. The role is part of the Hardware Module Reliability Group, which supports various technologies such as FaceID and iPhone Camera. Engineers in this team will set test specifications, drive equipment procurement, and analyze data from stress testing. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in a dynamic environment while collaborating with design teams to address reliability challenges.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field with 3+ years of industry experience.
  • Understanding of the physics behind the mechanical and electrical properties of materials.
  • Exposure to failure analysis techniques and materials characterization tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel internationally without restrictions (up to 10%).
  • A graduate degree in Materials Science, Physics, Engineering or equivalent field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in an engineering role involving hands-on work.
  • Extraordinary problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with the design and manufacture of assemblies that convert digital signals into physical signals.
  • Adept in statistical data analysis and capable of clear reporting.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, including remote activities at third-party vendor sites.
  • Flexibility to accept new tasks and pursue solutions to unexpected problems.
  • A dynamic person with a can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Set test specifications and drive procurement and qualification of critical equipment for validation of design reliability.
  • Assess reliability by executing stress testing and analyzing the resulting data.
  • Provide direction for failure analysis to understand the root cause of failures.
  • Collaborate with the design team to determine corrective actions.
  • Complete tests and resolve problems in an unattended manner.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
