Job description

The Controllers team at Goldman Sachs is responsible for ensuring the firm meets its financial control and reporting obligations as a global financial institution. This role involves safeguarding the firm's assets and reputation while ensuring compliance with policies and regulations governing financial markets. Controllers engage with regulators and auditors, providing critical analysis and oversight of complex private funds. The position requires collaboration with various divisions to support the Asset & Wealth Management Division effectively.

Requirements

  • 4-7 years of related experience in accounting or finance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required
  • Master's Degree in Accounting is preferred
  • CA certification with experience in alternative investments or private funds is desired
  • Basic knowledge of financial statements preparation and review, USGAAP, and IFRS is necessary
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel, is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, client relationship, and communication skills are necessary

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard the assets and reputation of the firm by controlling and supporting the asset management division.
  • Ensure compliance with the firm's policies and the rules governing global financial markets.
  • Review quarterly and monthly valuations and NAVs for private equity and hedge funds.
  • Handle corporate, regulatory, and management reporting for funds.
  • Support the fund launch and liquidation processes.
  • Collaborate closely with Business Teams, Product Services, Operations, IT, and Trading Divisions.
  • Work with fund administrators and auditors to ensure accurate financial reporting.
