Job description
The HID Sensing and Interaction Algorithms team is seeking a signal processing and machine learning algorithms engineer to develop advanced sensing algorithms for Apple products. This role involves collaborating with specialists across hardware, software, and design to solve complex data processing challenges. The engineer will take algorithmic solutions from research to production, contributing to innovative projects that enhance user experiences. Candidates should possess strong programming skills and a solid mathematical background to tackle fascinating problems.
Requirements
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM field with 3 years of industry experience.
- MS/Ph.D. in EE, CS, Physics, Statistics, Mathematics, or another engineering or technical field.
- Experience in early-stage algorithm development from concept through validation using signal processing and machine learning.
- Strong background in statistical signal processing, estimation/inference, and state-space models.
- Programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience building mathematical models in Python, MATLAB, R, or a similar high-level language.
- Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
- Experience working with embedded or resource-constrained systems.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Develop advanced sensing algorithms for Apple products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Take algorithmic solutions from research to production.
- Rapidly iterate on cleaning and analyzing data and building and testing algorithms.
- Implement, analyze, and validate algorithms for user experiences.
