Job description

Apple is looking for an experienced Quality Engineering Manager to lead a team in a dynamic product environment. This role involves guiding managers and a Technical Directly Responsible Individual while ensuring effective communication with key stakeholders about quality status and risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Quality Engineering and the ability to navigate complex technical landscapes. This position emphasizes the importance of balancing quality with business realities.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Quality Assurance.
  • 2+ years of experience managing managers or leading multiple teams.
  • Experience in complex and fast-changing technical environments.
  • Experience supporting or driving test automation adoption.
  • Solid track record of communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience managing through other managers, including a Technical DRI.
  • Good judgment in balancing quality rigor against schedule and business realities.
  • Experience in a high-bar consumer hardware or software environment.
  • Working knowledge of test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, or scripting/programming.
  • Familiarity with both hardware and software quality disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a Quality Engineering team across diverse product areas.
  • Communicate quality status, risks, and readiness to key stakeholders.
  • Guide managers and a Technical DRI in their roles.
  • Support the adoption of test automation within the team.
  • Manage quality communications and defend quality positions when necessary.
  • Adapt the QE team through organizational changes.
