Job description
The Product Design Engineer role at Apple focuses on the mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and modules for Apple Vision products. This position involves collaborating with various teams to enhance product design from concept to production. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- 3+ years of hands-on, consumer electronics product design experience
- Strong mechanical engineering analytical skills with experience in material selection and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in 3D CAD, preferably NX
- Experience in practical application of GD&T techniques and creating 2D drawings
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously
Responsibilities
- Own the mechanical design of parts, assemblies, and modules within Apple Vision products
- Engage in multi-disciplinary collaboration with teams such as Industrial Design and Project Management
- Conduct analysis, assembly, and reliability testing of designed parts
- Work with external manufacturing vendors to ensure design feasibility
- Participate in the entire product design cycle from concept development to testing and production
- Utilize creative problem-solving skills for failure analysis and root cause investigation
