  • Must be comfortable working with sensitive or potentially offensive content.
  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience shipping complex AI systems at global scale.
  • Background in model explainability, uncertainty estimation, or interpretability.
  • Curiosity and research interest in fairness, bias, and societal impacts of generative AI.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the responsible AI lifecycle end-to-end, assessing risks and defining policies.
  • Develop mitigation strategies and drive continuous improvements in AI safety.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to minimize unintended consequences.
  • Contribute to forward-looking research in fairness, robustness, and safety.
  • Work on architecture mitigation and safety alignment strategies for generative models.
  • Drive integration of safety measures in production environments.
  • Develop models, tools, datasets, and evaluation methods to monitor and improve generative models.
  • Incorporate human and automated feedback to continuously improve feature safety.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
