The Industrial Design Engineer (IDE) at Amazon will lead the design and deployment of innovative solutions for material handling systems across various fulfillment centers. This role requires collaboration with internal and external teams to address complex challenges in automated equipment and packaging technologies. The IDE will manage multiple high-visibility programs and drive technical strategies while ensuring effective communication across engineering and operations teams. The position offers opportunities for significant impact in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or equivalent.
- 5+ years of project management experience including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
- Experience in design, innovation, research and development, or industrial engineering.
- Strong technical background in automated or non-automated material handling equipment.
- Experience using data and metrics to make data-driven decisions.
Responsibilities
- Manage multiple large, highly complex programs through the development and deployment lifecycle.
- Define program/project scope and technical/business requirements for engineering teams.
- Evaluate solutions and make decisions balancing business value and technology risk.
- Build strong working relationships with Fulfillment Center leadership and operations teams.
- Communicate and present program status to Directors of Engineering and Operations.
