Job description
The Amazon Air Process Engineer (PE) team focuses on process stabilization, standardization, and continuous improvement to enhance air logistics capabilities. This role involves managing cost, speed, and service relationships while developing innovative solutions that create value for customers. Candidates will engage in data analysis, project management, and collaborative problem-solving to implement transformative changes. The position is based in Lakeland, FL, and requires a commitment to safety and security protocols.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field
- 2+ years of directly managing and responsible for multiple large projects experience
- 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- Experience in Lean Management, Six Sigma, and other operations engineering tools
- Experience in Logistics, Distribution, or Fulfillment processes
- Experience working under pressure in a cross-functional organization
- Master's degree in engineering, mechanical, operations, supply chain, business administration, or equivalent STEM field is preferred
- Experience with complex automated material handling equipment, packaging technologies, and systems
- Experience with financial and statistical modeling
- Experience in layout design
Responsibilities
- Develop labor standards through work measurement
- Create operational models and planning to support both sort and ramp operations
- Manage projects from conception to completion
- Conduct and lead project meetings with Senior and Regional leaders
- Assess and optimize the processes and equipment used in the facility
- Spearhead projects such as floor layout redesign and capacity planning studies
- Understand, articulate, and implement mechanisms that drive efficient processes
- Evaluate flight schedules to determine operational impacts
- Calculate ground support equipment needs at regular intervals
- Plan and design systems that meet business needs by improving integration of people, materials, equipment, software, and finance
- Recommend and implement changes to safety procedures, work methods, and labor standards
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Travel domestically up to 10% of the time
