Job description

The Site Quality Engineer will join the team at Cummins in Hartford, CT, focusing on ensuring product and process quality. This role involves leading corrective action processes to resolve customer issues and maintain compliance with quality standards. The engineer will also support change management initiatives and drive continuous improvement using quality tools and methodologies. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to enhance performance and reduce defects.

Requirements

  • A college, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering or a related technical or scientific subject is preferred.
  • Minimal to intermediate level of relevant work experience is required.
  • ASQ CQE certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead effective containment and corrective action processes to resolve customer issues.
  • Ensure products and processes meet quality standards such as IATF, APQP, and PPAP.
  • Support change management and VPI initiatives by validating product and process performance.
  • Serve as a quality subject matter expert for cross-functional teams.
  • Drive continuous improvement using Lean and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure adherence to internal and external standards.
  • Contribute to safe and successful product launches by supporting Safe Launch activities.
  • Apply AIAG core tools for quality planning and risk mitigation.
